ABOUT THE COSTUME DESIGNER
Ron Erickson had the privilege of designing the costumes for Book-It Repertory Theatre’s original production of Great Expectations, and he is thrilled to have the opportunity to design this production for Portland Center Stage. Other Book-It costume designs include Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, A Tale of Two Cities, Lady Chatterly’s Lover and Hard Times, to name just a few. Ron Erickson has also designed costumes and scenery for many other northwest theaters, including Pacific Northwest Ballet, Intiman Theatre, Tacoma Opera, Spectrum Dance Theater, Seattle Shakespeare Company and Strawberry Theatre Workshop. Ron is a founding faculty member of the performance production department at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. After more than thirty years he recently retired from his position as professor of costume design and costume design area head. Ron is currently head of wardrobe at Seattle Opera.
