KEYNOTE | MIGRATION POLICY AND STATE-LEVEL CONSEQUENCES IN THE TRUMP ERA
The Trump administration continues to seek increased restrictions on immigration and refugee resettlement to the United States and to end policies protecting those already in the country – including terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, eliminating Temporary Protected Status for certain immigrants, restricting the number of refugee arrivals, and increasing deportations of unauthorized migrants. In her keynote address, Attorney General Ellen F. Rosenblum will discuss these shifts in policy as well as the legal response from her office, as well as the long- and short-term consequences that are playing out across the state.

PANEL THEME | TRUMP-ERA IMPLICATIONS OF MIGRATION REFORM
Concern for migrants is a central theme across many sectors throughout Oregon and one of the most fundamental matters affecting many Oregonians, most critically those who are directly affected by harmful federal migration policies – including asylum-seekers, mixed-status families, refugees, DACA students, etc. National rhetoric around travel bans, public charge, border walls, detention centers, and family separation have caused great fear and confusion across migrant populations and is a constant threatening source of psychological anguish and related social, economic, and health issues for both migrants as well as the larger community. Join a panel of diverse stakeholders who will engage in meaningful dialogue, reflection and inspiration around various areas of migration. This dialogue will hone in on thematic streams focusing on federal migration policies and state laws, law enforcement practices, health access, migrant populations, economic impacts, and the wider impacts of migration on local communities.
