Live Jazz Music: Jeff Putterman
The Armory is excited to host Jeff Putterman, a local jazz guitarist, composer and faculty member in the jazz program at Portland State University for a live set before a performance of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill.
About Jeff Putterman
![]() | Jeff Putterman, guitarist/composer/music educator, lives in Portland, Oregon. A former faculty member at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Jeff also taught at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and at Lewis & Clark College in Portland. Jeff’s own educational background has been both extensive and varied, holding a B.A. degree in philosophy from the University of Maine, a guitar performance degree from the Musicians Institute and a M.A.T. in music from Lewis & Clark College. For twenty years Jeff directed secondary school bands and taught guitar classes in the Portland Metro area and from 2004 to the present he has been a jazz guitar instructor at Portland State University. In the course of his career Jeff has performed as a solo guitarist, band leader and sideman in clubs and concert halls from coast to coast. His recordings span three decades and present a unique mix of original compositions that blend classic and progressive jazz, and eclectic music styles.
