Carlos-zenen Trujillo

(They/Them)

Carlos-Zenen Trujillo (they/them) is a Cuban-born theatre artist and cultural consultant, bringing their lived experience as an ordained babalocha in the Regla de Ocha  tradition to The Brothers Size. Raised in the religion, they completed their kari ocha in 2022 and their iyaworaje in 2023. They are a fierce advocate for their faith, and previously served as cultural consultant for productions of Dear Dead Drug Lord at Washington Ensemble Theatre and Crave Theatre Company. Carlos-Zenen’s written work has been seen at Bag&Baggage, Oregon Cabaret Theatre, Artist Repertory Theatre and more. They hold a BFA in Theatre Arts from Southern Oregon University and are also a Certified Executive Chef and Home Care Worker. They extend deep gratitude to director Chip Miller for their open-mindedness and passion, Portland Center Stage for their commitment to cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue and their Eggun and Orishas who watch over and bless them every day.
