Armory Theater Fund

Support the Armory

We’re inviting you to name a main stage seat in the Gerding Theater by donating $1,891 (the year the Armory was built) to the Armory Theater Fund. Honor a family member, friend or colleague.

All ATF donations are tax deductible.

Several payment plans are available if you do not wish to donate the full amount at once. We can automatically bill your credit or debit card over a period of two years at $78.79/month, or three years at $52.53/month. Let us know what would work best for you.

For more information about this special offer, contact Lisa Sanman at 503-445-3729 or lisas@pcs.org.

Capital Campaign — Bring It Home

To date, we have raised $31.4 million from more than 1,600 businesses, foundations and individuals. We’re now in the home stretch of our fundraising effort with a few million left to raise. This is both the most challenging and the most exciting phase of the campaign: the further along in such a fundraising process, the harder it can be to secure the final dollars. We launched the Bring It Home campaign, and are inviting you to help us bring home these remaining dollars in order to clear the final hurdle and restore this building’s tradition as a destination and hub for our community.

Portland Center Stage and Its New Home

Widely noted as the “crown jewel” of the Brewery Blocks redevelopment, the Armory’s renovation has contributed to the revitalization of the Pearl/River District, providing both a near-term economic benefit of $14.7 million to the community and a projected long-term impact of $100 million in new economic activity over the next decade.

The Gerding Theater at the Armory has been recognized by:

  • Forbes Magazine as one of the greenest buildings in America
  • The Urban Land Institute as one of the eleven developments chosen from among 167 nominees to receive the Award for Excellence in the Americas.
  • The American Council of Engineering Companies Oregon as the recipient of their Grand Award for Engineering Excellence.

Since the Armory became the first building in the Cascadia region – and the first historical renovation of a performing arts venue in the world – to achieve a Platinum LEED certification, it has drawn groups of people interested in sustainable design from across the country, as well as international delegations from Russia, Belgium and Hungary.

Our favorite comment? “This building feels so-ooooo Portland!”

As we look ahead, the possibilities are endless for Portland Center Stage and the Gerding Theater at the Armory. Your generous gift will play a key role in ensuring that the Bring It Home phase of our capital campaign is indeed a success.
